Mellow Horse

Mellow Horse is a rockin' East Bay duo of multi-instrumentalist vocalist Drew Clinard and bassist Sam Gulisano. They play a lively mix of Alt-Country/Americana originals and covers and are inspired by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Talking Heads, John Prine. The two met at the Berkeley Farmers' Markets where they both are employed and support a thriving community around food, art, and family. Drew spent years off-grid honing his craft with the Cuyama Mama & The Hot Flashes, mixing up old-time traditionals and writing songs inspired by hard times and good times. He has also put out a solo record under the moniker The Real John Gary. Sam Gulisano formerly played with the regionally touring Jazz Iguanas, is influenced by jazz legends, and loves the unique musical alchemy of this current project.
