About the event

Most people know Jeff Morgan as the founding winemaker at Berkeley’s Covenant Winery. But a lot of folks don’t know that he’s the former West Coast editor for Wine Spectator magazine and the author (with his wife Jodie) of nine cookbooks.

And if you look a little farther back, you’ll find that Jeff was the house bandleader and saxophonist for Prince Rainier of Monaco (yes, the real Monte Carlo) at the Grand Casino there circa 1990, with a star-studded cast of musicians who now play with the likes of The Rolling Stones and Paul Simon. Jeff still plays around the world with recent gigs in New York, Miami and Paris.

In the Bay Area, Jeff performs with his jazz quartet, Free Run, a reference to the first and best wines out of tank during the grape harvest. He also plays concerts at his winery from time to time. And he loves Sailing Goat, where you might also be able to drink some of his locally made wine. Read more about Jeff Morgan and Free Run
