About the event
Andrea Prichett is a singer-songwriter, a deeply committed activist and a school teacher from Berkeley, CA. Formerly with the touring, feminist folk trio, “Rebecca Riots”, Andrea is known for her powerhouse vocals and emotional delivery as well as the topical and political themes of her songs. Her life experience is reflected in her lyrics and yet the tunes are still highly relatable. With a folk sensibility and a deep love of R&B, blues and gospel music, Andrea delivers a wide range of original tunes. From heartfelt ballads to rousing political anthems and spiritual songs of contemplation, she uplifts and inspires with a combination of song, story, and humor that makes it all make sense.
She also performs in a disco/funk band called “Shake It Booty Band” that was named Best Cover Band in 2024 by The East Bay Express. With help from her fellow “Shake It” bandmember and piano/keyboard player Deb Hungerfold, and Mike Derrick on guitar, the trio employs lots of beautiful harmony as well as gritty blues to make the magic happen.
