About the event
Adrian West Band is a five-piece acoustic rock ensemble from Oakland. They play a fun mix of originals, covers and instrumentals plus a bit of jazz. Some have described their sound as “Paul Simon meets Talking Heads”. A native of Montreal, Adrian’s approach to songwriting is “music first, lyrics second”. In other words, he likes his songs to stand on their own musically independent of the lyrics. That said, whether telling a silly story or grappling with some challenge facing humanity, his lyrics are infused with equal parts hope, clear-eyed realism and lighthearted whimsy.
